Re: Ankylosing spondylitis and delivery modeFrom: Braun, R. Daniel (rbraun@iupui.edu)Wed Jul 26 11:10:54 2000
Did it get worse after her first two vaginal deliveries?? If not why should it this time? Dan R. Daniel Braun, MD FACOG Clinical Professor Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology Indiana U. She has been advised by her rheumatologist to have a caesarean section for this delivery to avoid worsening of her sacro-iliac disease. I can find no good evidence apart from anecdotal to support this view and I am sure that she would be better off with vaginal delivery. Does anyone out there have any experience of this problem? Thank you Ron Jewell
