I have a young multiparous patient with ankylosing spondylitis who has had 2 previous uncomplicated vaginal deliveries. She has been advised by her rheumatologist to have a caesarean section for this delivery to avoid worsening of her sacro-iliac disease. I can find no good evidence apart from anecdotal to support this view and I am sure that she would be better off with vaginal delivery. Does anyone out there have any experience of this problem? Thank you

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
