Yet, we do the vast majority of our Paps at the (for us) six - seven week discharge visit, and rarely have an abnormal result. Sometimes, (but not that frequently) the cyto will comment that there is benign postpartum inflammatory effect, but we've had maybe a couple of ASCUS, a couple of LGSIL and, I think, two HGSIL in the hundreds of women we've done. What would account for this difference? Is it laboratory difference? (BTW,. we are dealing w/ a very diverse population, so it's not because we're dealing with nice, monogamous, healthy women all the time, either....). -- Kathi Wilson, RM Ilderton, Ontario, Canada mailto:wilsonk@gtn.on.ca ********************** Thames Valley Midwives 346 Platts Lane,

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
