The faculty practice group here does Number 1. Dan -----Original Message----- From: Paul Prior MD To: Multiple recipients of list OB-GYN-L Sent: 7/21/00 11:18 PM Subject: The lowly PAP smear... Just wonder if anyone has seen any data on the number of gyns now using thinprep or other liquid based PAP techniques vs. the old standard way. Second question (obviously far less scientific) - what are you all doing? 1) Old way on everybody 2) New (thinprep) on everybody 3) Offer choice to patient based on cost 4) Triage and use thinprep only in high risk or non compliant patients 5) Other My current group does #1, but in starting my own practice I'm leaning very strongly towards #2. Followup question: any commentary on reimbursement for these and has anyone used autocyteprep instead of thinprep?

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
