In our state Medicaid won't pay for the pap smear unless 12 months have elapsed since the last one. Dan -----Original Message----- From: jkulkin To: Multiple recipients of list OB-GYN-L Sent: 7/21/00 11:15 PM Subject: 6 wk check up Do most people do an exam at the six week post partum check up? What about a pap? I've heard some are having the patient back at 1 year from the first prenatal exam for the pap. Very inconvenient for the patient who must miss work, wait for the doc etc.... Just wondering what the standard of practice is these days? Does ACOG have a list of global services to be provided in pre/postnatal care? I haven't checked in a while. Jay "Braun, R. Daniel" wrote:

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
