Re: VBAC, SROM, not in laboFrom: Griffiths Malcolm (Malcolm.Griffiths@ldh-tr.anglox.nhs.uk)Wed Jul 19 17:10:32 2000
Observe 24 hours. Assess cervix. If favourable induce with Syntocinon. If not discuss with patient prior to induction with Syntocinon if she agrees - otherwise CS. -----Original Message----- From: jane@seasonedsystems.com Sent: 10 July 2000 02:17 To: Multiple recipients of list OB-GYN-L Subject: VBAC, SROM, not in labor A twist to the VBAC/induction/augmentation discussion-- What are you doing when an otherwise good candidate for VBAC comes in after SROM at term, not in labor? If indeed pitocin induction increases risk for rupture, should we just await the onset of active labor (which will usually occur within 24 hours? Has this patient lost her chance for an easy VBAC? The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
