IMHO failure to be reimbursed should be no more a reason not to order or perform an indicated test/procedure than coverage for a test/procedure be an indication to order/perform it. with regard to ultrasound, i feel this will eventually be a moot point as more folks leave residency well-trained in the use of ultrasound and begin to utilize it as part of their standard of care rather than another money-making gizmo. besides, with managed care, there is no more money.

i agree with Kathi stupidity can be found no matter what letters follow the name. i'm reminded of what Oded Langer, who's now Chief at St Luke's - Roosevelt in NYC. there is an eleventh commandment handed to Moses as an afterthought for OB's - "Don't be Meshugeh! {sp?)"

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
