I began woring in July99. Last year (according to my boss) the practice grossed almost $1,000,000. We have a large prtion of that coming from medicaid, probably 40% of the income. The remainder is from managed care, with very little straight fee for service. Referrals are largely from physicians he has known since medical school. That last worries me a bit, since they have gotten very little time to know me, and if he were to completely retire may evaporate. I hate to open this can of worms, but I am worried because my boss is a DO, and I am an MD. they may look for a DO to refer to. Has anyone ever had a similar situation?

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
