Depo ProveraFrom: ainsron@msn.comThu Jun 29 21:48:59 2000
The package insert lists active hepatic disease as a contraindication to Depo Provera. Is this simply an extrapolation of the data regarding OCs and liver disease? Would any of you use Depo Provera in an alcoholic with significant liver impairment? When I looked in Speroff's endocrine text, he didn't mention any liver toxicity associated with it.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
