Genora

For U.S. docs, a question:

For several years now I have been prescribing Genora 1/35 for many of our patients. It used to run about $10 a cycle and as far as I know, we never had a failure and the patients were happy. Now the pharmacists are substituting a different generic called Necon which runs about $25 a cycle and they tell me that Genora has been taken off the market. Does anyone know what happened? Suddenly all the generics cost nearly as much as the brand names. For any docs from outside the US, what does the average cycle of oral contraceptive pills run in your country?

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
