Re: Cephalocentesis-questionFrom: Steve & Eryl Raymond (eryl@intekom.co.za)Sun May 28 00:42:01 2000
Wait, wait, wait. "50%+ fetal mortality rate"??? This baby had no prognosis at all. In fact it is a wonder that it lasted 6 days. You are not advocating a C/S in such cases are you? A procedure with maternal mortality and morbidity proposed to deliver a live abnormal baby who is going to die anyway? I don't think there's a place for raising false hopes, that the baby has a chance, and I would certainly not want to do a C/S even if she didn't have mitral regurg. Dr. Saeed did the right thing. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
