Wait, wait, wait. "50%+ fetal mortality rate"??? This baby had no prognosis at all. In fact it is a wonder that it lasted 6 days. You are not advocating a C/S in such cases are you? A procedure with maternal mortality and morbidity proposed to deliver a live abnormal baby who is going to die anyway?

I don't think there's a place for raising false hopes, that the baby has a chance, and I would certainly not want to do a C/S even if she didn't have mitral regurg.

Dr. Saeed did the right thing.
