It's only FDA approved for a year because that's how long the studies were. They generally recommend discontinuation after a year to see if the recurrences return. If the lady's immune system has caught up with the virus, she may not HAVE any recurrences now. Tell her to take a month or two off and see what happens. If she has a recurrence, then start a "new" year and everyone will be happy.
