I am posting this for my wife Dr Samina Gul, an OB/GYN. My wife an OB/Gyn doctor had our daughter by natural childbirth at Good Samaritan Hospital in Los Gatos. During the childbirth my wife suffered the following injuries - a fractured sacrail illiac joint, a fractured L5 transverse process, a herniated disc and 2 hematoma's. The baby was only 5 lbs 13 oz. Has anyone heard of such injuries during delivery - my wife and the doctors we know have not! How do we find a doctor that will say this was below par? My wife is still suffering a year and a half later - receiving cortisone injections and a daily regiment of stretching and exercise ot overcome the pain and get through the day. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
