There you go! Jeff got it right.

The reason the rabbit died was because he was KILLED (P.C. term - "sacrificed") to look at the ovaries. Sooooo, when they say "the rabbit died," they are NOT really implying result of the test (positive or negative); they're REALLY saying that the test has been done - results pending.

I've never seen a dead rabbit (from this anyway), but we did an experiment in Med School with mice. I wonder now why we had to kill poor mice in order to learn this (archaic) fact, rather than look at pictures of them. Don't get me wrong, though. I don't hug trees or save whales... But it DID seem a little useless to me. But now I have a vivid memory (unless this IS an artificial MATRIX that we "live" in) of hyperemic ovaries and tubes of a recently live but now dead mouse who had been injected with... well, there you go.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
