I freely acknowledge that this could be considered splitting hairs, but in fact the tower started leaning before construction was complete. In fact, the last several "floors" are at different angles to the preceeding ones in an attempt to compensate for this. This said it is obvious that it was leaning before the experiment. My son just did a science project on this (the experiment) for his grade 2 class - he can actually tell you more than I can. John
