Ron,You might be right. I don't think the ER Doc can turn the patient away - this would be a COBRA violation.) Although she wasn't in labor!) However, I'm not quite sure why she didn't just present herself to the L & D or ER of the local hospital.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
