Postpartum pre-eclampsiaFrom: Oliver Smith (osmith@4unet.co.uk)Fri Apr 28 15:14:22 2000
Does any body have any protocols or ideas for the management of a patient who had symptoms of pre-eclampsia, B.P. 160/100, no proteinuria and raised liver enzymes 6 days post Caesarian section, with no other symptoms or signs during this pregnancy. Following the birth of her first child she developed HELLP syndrome 48hrs post-partum. 7 days after the birth of her second child she had the same symptoms and signs that she is currently experiencing and was treated with atenolol with poor effect. Any ideas would be much appreciated.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
