precursor to cervical cancer? Were there any benefits to cauterization?
>> I started on ON 1 gm in 1969. Within 1 year I had a lovely erosion (eversion) which I have held on to and cherished for 30 years. The MD who gave me the pills, (a GP and one of the few MDs in Flint, MI who would give BCPs to an unmarried woman) cauterised my cervix with silver nitrate twice. When I asked him why, he mumbled something about cancer. After the second time, I went to another doc, this time an OB, who explained the "eversion" and sent me on my way. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Kay Johnson, CNM Atlanta, Georgia ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Life is too important to be taken seriously." The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
