Re: Cervical erosionFrom: Zach Newton (zbnewton@mindspring.com)Thu Apr 20 20:31:34 2000
As an aside, last week did outpatient/general anesthesia LEEP on 29 yo w/ hx in utero DES exposure, classical cockscomb cx w/ pseudopolyp central configuration and HGSIL pap. At surgery there was focal irregular patch of vaginal epithelium in anterior fornix that did not stain w/ Lugol's solution. Path report: CIN II/moderate dysplasia w/ "HPV features" on cx tissue. LEEP specimen of anterior vaginal epithelium: squamous metaplasia with mild dysplasia and subepithelial benign adenosis. Retrospectively, am mighty happy that the procedure was not attempted in the office.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
