Does she have domestic violence or other form of abuse at home??? Does she have depresssion? Does she have irritable bowel syndrome? It is highly unusual for ovarian cysts to cause pain, especially of this nature.

I have a 23yo g3p3 who has recurrent symptomatic simple ovarian cysts. When I first met her in 8/99 she had a 4.5cm simple cyst that was quite symptomatic and was using narcotics given to her by her FP. I performed a laproscopic cystectomy that went with out complication and placed her on ocps for ovarian rest and future cyst suppresion. Unfortunatly, she had elevated BPs on the ocps despite trying two different types. She refuses DPMA secondary to previous undesirable side effects(although I don't think DPMA will help). She now currently has a 4cm simple cyst on the opposite ovary that is "killing her" and destroying her life and she wants both her ovaries removed so that she can avoid repetitive scopes.(at least she is not asking for narcotics). Any suggestions for the patient who has very high BPs on ocps and recurrent ovarian cysts? She has had her tubes tied and wishes to have no more children.
