Funny, I read it that way initially, too. It is MSO4....morphine. I really don't know. I don't know where I got the protocol from (I think it was a Grand Rounds during residency). I have been unable to locate the original notes from my files. My thought was that it was for the purpose of intubation without general anesthesia available. Of course it wasn't necessary in this case.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
