Sure - patient's should be able to ask for a c/s for any reason and get one. That's it.

To me, the implications are chilling - if you read between the lines in there the "informed consent" issue becomes almost impossible - the implication is we should be sitting down with every patient who is pregnant and telling them that they could have problems unless they have a c/s. If we don't, and they become incontinent of stool after a 3rd degree laceration, it's just a matter of time before the vultures set in....

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit.
