DUBFrom: Steve Breaux MD (breauxs@genesishealth.com)Thu Mar 30 14:37:38 2000
28 yo G2P1 with long term DUB (16 months). Last birth 15 months ago. Intial workup suggested anovulation. Intially tried hormonal regulation with 3 different of OCP's for 3 months without success. D&C/ hysteroscopy after EASILY perforating uterus showed placental site nodule. Pt desired future fertility. Performed wedge resection of affected area by EASILY perforating again and using this as a marker for resection. Path returned as adenomyosis. Pt did well for three months then DUB all over again. Had pt on OCP's after surgery. Then tried depo-provera, what a mistake! Pt still bleeding daily, anemic, fed up, still wants future fertility but is in no current relationship. Last week (3/00) tried lupron in hope that the bleeding will stop. Still awaiting the final verdict of this last intervention. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
