Thanks to all who have given their comments on PCOS. I supposed U/S of ovaries was needed to put that conclusion. Yes, I have seen, though rarly, ovaries not enlarged and structurally near normal in cases of hyperandrogenism and hirsutism. The echo picture of affected ovaries is yet to be investigated. Thus the gyn endocrinologist may feel more confident to have endocrine analises at hand. Nonetheless would you not agree those analises can be misleading as well, taking into account oscillating levels, individual variations and other inner secrition glands and other organs influencing each other and ovulation at the end? Some infertility centers do not use endocrine levels to monitor ovulation in PCOS. Close cooperation with experienced sonologist was proved to be exact enough in picking up the propper treatment to enduce ovulation and endometrial positive response. Please comment on this. Regards, Anatoli Garkusha, MD.
