Re: PCOD: sonologist arguing on Stein -Leventhal with gynecologistFrom: Rafael Haciski MD (haciski@earthlink.net)Mon Mar 27 12:54:26 2000
Stein-Levenethal term is not in use today. The clinical condition of PCOS is daignosed based on the following: 1...anovulation (or evidence of anovulation) 2...signs of hyperandrogenism (elevated androgens, or hirsutism, or acne, etc) note that the diagnosis does NOT involve sono determination of the ovaries (which can be cystic or not). For your particular problem, just describe what you see, and refrain from making diagnoses, analogies, or allusions.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
