The clinical condition of PCOS is daignosed based on the following: 1...anovulation (or evidence of anovulation) 2...signs of hyperandrogenism (elevated androgens, or hirsutism, or acne, etc) note that the diagnosis does NOT involve sono determination of the ovaries (which can be cystic or not). The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit.
