My experience (on both sides) is that when one half of a couple has HPV and the other gets checked (by someone who knows what to look for) - at MOST 40% of the other half of the couple will have HPV found. I have had good relationships with several Dermatologists over the last 15 years. At one point we always had the men seen by Derm (not our FP or IM docs - their rate of HPV ID was </ %)- or if Derm saw a man - we'd see the woman. The Derm would do the vinegar soak and look with magnification. Ultimately we decided it was not worth the effort.

I do have the STD discussion...

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
