Re: VBACFrom: Braun, R. Daniel (rbraun@iupui.edu)Wed Mar 22 19:19:59 2000
I would recommend elective C/S at 39 weeks for this lady, even in our unit where we can get a baby out in a real hurry. You don't know what kind of scar she has and the ACOG guidelines say that you need to. Dan -----Original Message----- From: nelsonpou@yahoo.com To: Multiple recipients of list OB-GYN-L Sent: 3/22/00 4:09 PM Subject: VBAC Case of 38 years old G2P1 C/S1 IUP 38 week. We have no Hx of previous uterine incision. Well documented medium size fibroid at low cervical segment. No availability of an operating room staff 24 hrs "standing by". Under this circumstances, should a VBAC be offered during prenatal care? Do you consider this patient a "safe" patient for such procedure?

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
