These doctors are very popular and may be able to survive doing this. Our group is very busy, and we have many loyal patients. However, I have had happy patients transfer care because their copay changed from $5 to $10. Apparently "popularity" only goes so far (about $5 worth). My suspicion is that these "super private" cash patients will demand carte blanche care, and such arrangements will prove to be unpopular due to the time demands placed by these patients. Ashley

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
