Joe,

I believe there are a number of docs in the North and Southwest that participate in a program called "SimpleCare" ( I think that is the name). As I understand it, it works well for a practitioner, even for surgical expenses, but I don't know what happens with hospital charges. I suspect if a patient was willing to pay cash to the hospital, there would be a huge discount, as well. Then there is always the problem of catastrophic care expenses.

I do know of a Dr. Shelly C. Giebel, who participates in this program. I think she is an OBG, but I have not talked to her about this. You may want to write to her about it. giebel@vvm.com

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
