The cost difference is a $5-10 copay vs paying for the Terazol at whatever the going rate is ~$25-30. >2) Are you doing cultures to demonstrate that these patients have an organism sensitive to terconazole but not other azoles?
I don't do routine cultures for vaginitis, KOH and saline slides suffice. Seems to me in this day and age, cultures and sensitivities would be more expensive to the HMO than allowing Terazol on the formulary.
