EBM to the rescue?

Got my OBG Management today. I especially like the malpractice cases. This month has some really reassuring stuff as it applies to EBM saving you from malpractice litigation.

One case was a shoulder dystocia with a permanent brachial plexus injury. The suit alleged that the doctor mismanaged a shoulder dystocia and failed to do a cesarean for suspected macrosomia. Additionally, she claimed that her doctor did not cut a large enough episiotomy to prevent a fourth degree laceration. This was settled for $450,000 the morning of the trial.

So much for EBM on macrosomia and episiotomy.. :)

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
