sorry but what with all the witty rejoinders sorta lost track of the point. personally, have done amnios for maturity altho less so now. recently have a case involving a woman with 2 previous c-sections, placenta previa with accreta/ increta ( dx'ed by ultrasound and mri). amnio for maturity is planned for 35 weeks. also saw a 7 pound infant succumb to RDS - will never forget that. i think there definitely IS a role for maturity taps, albeit limited. Now - about the ad hominem comments ...
