Ovarian adenocarcinoma in a young femaleFrom: Elsaid Ghanem (meghanem87@hotmail.com)Fri Jan 28 02:27:04 2000
Dear clleagues I want your opinion -as an oncologist- in this clinical problem confronting me. Briefly a newly married young female ( in her twenties),had adnexal mass measuring on sonar 10x12 cm presentd with pain. On exploration it was found ovarian growth, breaking the capsule, with acitis, but no extraovarian invasion was observed by naked eye. The mass was soft, with soft swollen papillae looking like" molar tissue" so that initial impression was ? nongestational ovarian TRD.I know this assumption may not be valid however. Conservative adnexectomy was done as you expect for obivous reasons. Subsequent histology ( after operation" showed it as "papillary serous adenocarcinoma of the ovary .As evident this stage Ic ovarian cancer need ed more agressive treatment. For your center`s opinion.
