If you had known that ahead of time, you could have sectioned her at 11:59pm and then it would have been covered, plus she would have gotten a tax deduction for the year - a double bonus. Seriously though, why didn't the patient and her family just pay the premium to continue coverage for the additional month, I'm sure it would have been a lot cheaper for her than paying delivery and hospital charges out of pocket! >
