Re: oral board review coursesFrom: annette lee (aleeoc@rocketmail.com)Thu Jan 20 06:22:14 2000
As a practicing RE, I felt compelled to take a course before the (general) oral boards. I took the Osler course and I can't really say if it helped. I think that some people do better in structured lectures and others reading on their own, just like in med school. I heard that the Breen Course was excellent however it is no longer offered. I agree w/ previous posts that doing Prologues and Precis is probably enough. I think the thing that was THE MOST helpful was having other docs, as many as I could get, review my caselist, as me about any "red flags" they saw, and looking at caselists from people who had passed in recent years. You look at your own caselist over and over until you can't "see" it anymore. That is why you really have to have fresh eyes look at it. If it makes you feel any better, I am now in case list hell for the Oral REI boards. At least you will be done!

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
