Solid post, Mark. You are on the bleeding edge. Your recognition of uncertainties is brazenly honest. Thanks.

With your experience, your post is curiously mute irt metformin induced diarrhea, frequently to the point of intolerance. My experience demonstrates anecdotally that this intolerance far exceeds the incidence cited in the PDR tables. The only work around that I have found is a soft launch with maybe 500 mg once daily for a week or so, then working up to tolerance or 850 bid.

Please expand on your witness of the gi issues and your approach.

Thanks.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
