Re: ?Erb's PalsyFrom: Braun, R. Daniel (rbraun@iupui.edu)Wed Jan 12 12:45:48 2000
The treatment usually consists of physical therapy and observation for 4-5 months. If the palsy is still present, neurosurgical reanastomosis of the nerves of the brachial plexus should be considered. This should be done before 6 months of age if it is to have any chance of helping. The worst thing you can do is lose contact and have a Pediatrician just ignore it until after the 6 month time frame has passed. Dan R. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
