Dr. Woolley,

When I attended high school and college (1969-1972), this was a widely recognized anecdotal side effect of Ortho-Novum and Norinyl use. Of course, these contraceptives have since been replaced by higher progestin, lower estrogen containing formulations, and so, shouldn't now manifest the same effects which were commonly noted (and to some extent valued) then. It is remarkable that as I look back on the medical literature of my adolescence, there are few documented reports of breast enlargement effects of oral contraceptive formulations. Perhaps normal breast development versus contraceptive stimulatory effects weren't ever well sorted out and documented. Just my two cents.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
