info on C-section attendance

I am looking for information on hospitals with neonatal intensive care units and normal newborn nurseries. Who attends the c-sections? In our hospital, the newborn nursery attends "normal c-sections" with a respritory therapist. The NICU nurses and a respritory therapist only attend c-sections that are "not normal" (ie. meconium stained fluid, deceleration, etc.). I know that in this community there are two other hospitals with NICU's and in those institutions the NICU nurses and a respritory therapist always attend c-sections. I guess that I do not consider any c-section normal. I know that recently I attended several c-section and had unknown meconium and ditress on the majority that were supposed to be "normal c-sections". Any information out there that you can share would be appriciated.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
