I am looking for information on hospitals with neonatal intensive care units and normal newborn nurseries. Who attends the c-sections? In our hospital, the newborn nursery attends "normal c-sections" with a respritory therapist. The NICU nurses and a respritory therapist only attend c-sections that are "not normal" (ie. meconium stained fluid, deceleration, etc.). I know that in this community there are two other hospitals with NICU's and in those institutions the NICU nurses and a respritory therapist always attend c-sections. I guess that I do not consider any c-section normal. I know that recently I attended several c-section and had unknown meconium and ditress on the majority that were supposed to be "normal c-sections". Any information out there that you can share would be appriciated.'
