Epidurals leading to breastfeeding problems?!

I'm an L&D RN taking the Lactation Educator's course through UCSD. Having to research articles about breastfeeding I was curious about something said in class and am looking for research to back it up. It was said that there is some concern about the fluid boluses needed prior to an epidural can cause problems with the later release of oxytocin needed for breastfeeding. I really want to find this info. I am a believer in breastfeeding (did with all 4 of my children) but am really in favor of epidurals (if that's the pt's desire).I also have a little bet with one of our CRNA's!! Can someone direct me to some articles on this matter, either in an anesthesia or OB-GYN journal? Thanks in advance,

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
