We also have 3 fully equiped OR's and 1 OR's for inuteral fetal surgies with a 7 bed recovery room. We try to staff the FDR's and Special Care Unit with a patient ratio of 1 nurse to 1 - 2 patients depending on equity. The triage unit is staffed with 1 nurse. OR unit is staffed with a scrb nurs or tech and a circulating nurse. The recovery room has 2 nurses to recover and prep the surgical patients.

Needless to say sometimes this can be a problem when other laboring patients come in. We start scheduling inductions from 0500 spacing them at half hour interval. We do not schedule any between 0630 to 0730 because of shift change.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
