I wanted to post to the Medical Professionals list but was hesitant. I am an L&D RN with 25 years experience and a childbirth educator...I do consider myself a "medical professional" but didn't want to step on toes!!! Here's my question..... We've had a doc that in the past 2-3 weeks has done 5 classical C/s's (we do 150-165 deliveries/month). What is the criteria for a classical? The only times I've seen it in the past few years has been in the cases of extreme prematurity & true "crash" C/S. This doc also pulled the cords off of 2 patients yesterday. One of these was a patient with HELLP that had a plt cnt of 58,000. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
