Need assistance finding a gyn.From: 16 (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 29 May 2002 18:18:18 -0500 (CDT)
I have posted previously and both responses recommended seeing a doctor. I've brought up going to a gynecologist with my parents before, and they insist I see my mother's. I wish to see one regarding horrible monthly cramps, shortening cycles, random stabbing/pulling lower stomach pain, and spotting between periods. I really wish to see a female doctor, and my mother's gynecologist is male. I know they both are just as proffessional and helpful, but I don't feel comfortable with a guy down there. My parents are also weary of sending me to one because they think that I'll be put on the birth control pill when they don't like hormone replacement drugs. I want to go to make sure I'm okay. I've tried contacting planned parenthood for confidential clinics in my area, but all of them are too far away or in neighborhoods I'd rather not drive through. I live in the Schaumburg, IL area, near Woodfield Mall. If anyone has information on gynecologists I could visit confidentially, under age, with cash, and no insurance, the help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.
