Boy, you like to ask the tough ones. You can get transient small ovarian cysts due to the Depo-Provera, but not generally clinically significant ones. Typically, Depo suppressed ovarian cyst formation, as does the pill. Given that the Depo causes you to have unacceptable side effects, if you take anything, the pill might be a better choice, but it is not clear to me that you need anything at this time. You make an ovarian cyst every month, and they rupture to release the egg. Apparently this was symptomatic, but that has nothing to do with next cycle, so unless this becomes a recurrent problem, I don't see that it needs treatment.

There are treatments for decreased sex drive, and you should talk with your doctor about them. Testosterone has been touted for this purpose, and I have had some limited success in my own practice, but it is not the panacea that you might suppose from watching Oprah.
