I was on ortho-tri cyclen for about a year before I switched to another brand. Ortho Tri cyclen while it totally helps with acne and regulating your periods, I found that I was still having cramps but my periods were not lasting as long (about 3-4 days). I had serious breast tenderness and some hair loss. I don't mean to scare you or anything but you know that doctors do get incentives for pushing a particular drug from the major drug manufacturers and from reading this forum it seems to me that a lot of doctors are pushing Ortho Tri cyclen. If I were you, I would try it for a while. If you have problems, just tell your doctor you want to change. It's that simple.
