Hi Shannon,

I have an old friend that is an OBGYN. I was having this same discussion with him several years ago. I knew of someone that was pregnant with twins but miscarried only one. He told me that this is more common than most people think. It can happen very early on in the pregnancy, and sometimes, the woman doesn't even know it has happened. Other times they do know. He also said, this is one reason they tell women not to tell others that they are pregnant with twins, as it is common to lose one.

I hope this has helped.
