absolutely terrifiedFrom: Susan (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 17 Nov 1999 11:10:18 -0600 (CST)
My sister in law has thrush. SHe's been tested for HIV numerous times when pregnant with the mandatory bloodwork but from all the information on the internet, it seems that thrush is an indicator for HIV or even cancer. We're both a bit panicked. She had a lot of colds this summer and took antibiotics - that was when she first noticed the patches and asked her GP about them. He treated her with some oral medication and it seemed to go away for awhile, but then she got another cold and the thrush seemed to come right back and isn't going away. Should she be very concerned or was the thrush never totally extinguished the first time? From our combined search, it also seems that women that take birth control pills have a few problems with this? We appreciate any and all the information you have on this!! Thanks so much! Susan Oh - and her bloodwork seems okay but we're not sure what would be detected there.
