Another Question for the Great Dr. M!From: B (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 12 Nov 1999 13:05:18 PST
Dr. Marchbein, My family and I suspect that I might have lupus (not sure which kind - have been getting a face rash from sun exposure since about August 1990 and since about July of this year have had to go off ALL dairy, beef and pork products due to a suspected allergy to them, joint pain/swelling/stiffness that comes and goes and sometimes have it for up to a month, and what feels like kidney pain on urination). I have an appointment with a clinic on December 3 to see about getting diagnosed medically. Well, last night, my husband and I had intercourse and, as he was entering me, I had pain in the lower front left quadrant of my abdomen. This was unusual since I usually only have pain during intercourse if he enters me too deeply and vigorously due to him apparently hitting my cervix too hard. Soon as he saw me grimace and felt me tense up (he could tell it was too early for this to be in pleasure due to an impending orgasm since it had been a while since our last intercourse and we were too impatient to bother with foreplay), he stopped and asked me what was wrong and I told him that it felt like kidney pain to me as in it was in the same area that I occasionally get pain during urination. He then asked me if I wanted to continue and I said that if the pain got too much, I would ask him to stop. Well, during intercourse, the pain got less but never went totally away and has continued through today. What I am wondering is could I have been right about this being kidney pain? BTW, my lower back has been hurting pretty much continually today. Pegasus
