This is a very challenging situations, and I can relate to your frustration, as weight loss (and gain) have always been a problem for me too. One thing that comes to mind right off is: has anyone checked your Thyroid gland. Sometimes that can affect weight loss/gain. Two other bits of information would be: your age, and your method of birth control. Sometimes these two factors add to the challenging mix.

After discussing this with your health care provider, you also might look at some other options for weight loss. There are other programs that are working for individuals, and some individuals are having good luck by eating less high glycemic foods, and more vegetables and proteins. I'm not recommending anything specific, but this is an option.

I always liked Weight Watchers, as they are very nutrition conscious, and sensible. I would also try to increase your exercise to every day, trying to do about an hour a day. If you schedule it, and plan it, then if you have to miss a day it's not such a big deal. I would start keeping a journal of what you eat every day, and see if there are some things you could change in your diet.

I am in my 50's, and have had a horrid time trying to lose weight and keep it off. I exercise every day, have cut down on my sugar and complex carbohydrates, and my weight stays the same. I am learning to live and love who I am, as I don't want to take any diet medications, nor develop diabetes either.

Here are several excellent web sites you might like, at least to provide you with more information: http://www.eatprotein.com/ http://www.radiantrecovery.com/ http://www.enteract.com/~jldavid/lowcarb/pyramid.html http://www.members.home.net/cnmpat/favlowcarb.htm
