If you are post-menopausal, whether naturally or surgically, you should try to perform the exam on a schedule. I generally suggest the 1st of each month as a readily memorable date, but any day that you can remember is OK. If your ovaries are still in place, and you are pre-menopausal, you will still have the normal hormonal shifts, and are likely symptomatic on a regular pattern.
